Christmas in Punta Gorda -- Some Snow in Florida

Punta Gorda is one of the best places to be at Christmas, albeit no snow, --- although I've heard that it might snow Friday night for a brief moment during the lighting of the downtown Christmas tree.

This coming weekend the Punta Gorda Christmas season shifts into full gear with the lighting of the downtown Christmas Tree Friday night and the first day of Holly Days -- house tours of some of Punta Gorda's historic homes decorated for Christmas. More information on the house tours at Punta Gorda Garden Club.

Saturday is also the launch of Christmas Card Lane, the Kiwanis display of oversized Christmas cards lining the paths of Gilchrist Park by the Harbor. Topping this off is the annual Christmas Parade. Then later Saturday evening you can watch lighted, decorated boats parade on Charlotte Harbor. For more information and best viewing opinions for the Lighted Boat Parade
