4th Annual Cardboard Boat Race Launches at Laishley Park in Punta Gorda

To prove that anything can float, for awhile at least, the 4th Annual Charlotte Young Professionals “Cardboard Boat Races” will be among the Red Fish Tournament Festivities this Saturday, May 2.

Cardboard vessels pasted together with duct tape or glue will launch from Laishley Park at about 10 a.m and attempt to stay afloat. You can watch them sink or swim at this comic event in a 150-yard paddle race.

The “Splash Dogs” will be practicing Saturday morning as well so you may be able to catch them too if you head over to the Festival to see the race.
