Four Points by Sheraton Punta Gorda Harborside Getting Ready for Grand Opening

After the winds of Hurricane Charley blew away the old Holiday Inn by Charlotte  Harbor, the early members of Team Punta Gorda dreamed about a new more upscale hotel that would reflect the spirit of a revitalized town.  The new 106-room Sheraton with its swaying palms lining the harbor is a nice fit arriving  in time for the city's 5 -year after Charley celebration coming this summer.

While advertised as a "luxury" hotel, the room prices are starting at the moderate price of $89 a night.  Located conveniently right next to the new event center, the hotel will offer sleek guest rooms with harbor and marina view  rooms some with private balconies and flat screen TVs.  Amenities also include  lobby library, fitness room, pool, whirlpool, and  free internet access.

An on-site restaurant open to the public , the Dockside Grill, will serve breakfast and dinner.  And the hotel's website mentions a lounge as well.

I've  been admiring the Four Points and its beautiful landscaping every time we pass by to cross the bridge north into Port Charlotte.   It's a welcome addition to Punta Gorda.  A Grand Opening is scheduled for May 21st with first bookings accepted for June 4.
