Punta Gorda's Visual Arts Center Fine Arts Festival Will Celebrate DaVinci and Michelangelo

The 2010 Visual Arts Center's Fine Arts Festival taking place October 16 through November 13 will celebrate the works of Leonardo da Vinci and Michelangelo with workshops, presentations, movies, and a Italian extravaganza gala.

Some of the announced activities include:

Grand Opening for the Fine Arts Festival Celebration
October 16, 10am at the Visual Arts Center (Free)

VAC 50th Golden Jubilee Open House
demonstrations by our artists, instructors and students
October 16, 10am-2pm (Free)

Leonardo and Michelangelo Lecture Series
Brown bag lunch,  45 minute video lecture series with Liz Hutchinson
October 16, November 4 -- 11, noon (Free, Contribution Accepted)

Italian Wine Tasting
with Sean Tuttle, Italian Wine Expert
October 20, 5:30pm ($35)

Una Bella Notte di Punta Gorda
Gallery Walk on October 21, 5-8pm in Downtown Punta Gorda (Free)

Mask-making Workshop for Children
taught by Patricia Mulligan on October 23, 10am-noon ($15)

Leo vs. Mike: The Competition
an original play written by Larry Stewart
October 23, 8pm ($10)

Journaling &  Sketchbook Workshop
with Dotty Mattoon &  Joyce Schenk on October 26, 9am-noon ($20)

La Cucina Italiana @ Pies & Plates
a cooking adventure at Pies  & Plates in the Punta Gorda
Crossing Shopping Center on October 26, 6pm ($45 ticket required)

Learn to Draw Hands &  Feet
with award-winning portrait artist, Kerry Vosler
November 3, 9am-4pm ($80/members, $100/non-members + $10 model fee)

Dinner & a Movie: "The Agony and the Ecstasy"
dine on salad & pizza outdoors while watching the movie
November 7, 6:30pm ($10 and BYOB)

Fine Arts Festival: Big Italian Wedding Reception
