City Council has announced that two town hall meetings are planned in Punta Gorda, both beginning at 6 p.m., the first on Wednesday, February 16 at the PGI Civic Association and the second on Thursday, March 3, at the Burnt Store Presbyterian Church.
At Wednesday’s Council meeting, Council approved an ordinance that will connect the City’s parking violation process with the State DMV. Any vehicle that has accumulated three or more unpaid parking tickets will be unable to be registered.
At the same meeting, the Council also reviewed the current status of Linear Park II and III. Phase III, which would connect the completed Phase I with the planned MURT (multi-use recreational trail) along Shreve to US 41 will proceed. The Phase II extension from Shreve to US 41 at Carmelita is likely be put on hold until funding becomes available.
