If you are skilled at expressing yourself about photographs you see, you might want to enter the Writer's Contest being held in conjuction with both Punta Gorda Book Week and the Photography Show. Book Week started yesterday and continues through Saturday. The photography show is being held through January 29 at the Visual Arts Center, 210 Maud St., Punta Gorda.
The contest involves writing about the specific photographs on display at the Photography Show. . Contestants must visit the display, select a photograph to write about, then write a poem or essay of not more than 250 words about the work. The entry fee is $10. Prizes of $100, $75 and $50 will be awarded to first-, second- and third-place winners, respectively. The winners will be announced at the book festival.
