Patchouli - "New America Folk" duo performing in Punta Gorda

Performing tonight at Fishermen's Village from 5 to 9 p.m , Patchouli has been headlining at venues all over southwest Florida.

Describing themselves on their website as "new American folk blending elements of folk, pop, flamenco and jazz", Patchouli is a nationally touring band comprised of award-winning songwriter Julie Patchouli and master guitarist Bruce Hecksel. Patchouli's sound has been described as “the harmonies of Simon & Garfunkel meet the guitar brilliance of the Gipsy Kings".

The classically trained pair has been touring non-stop for over 11 years resulting in their being into dubbed “the hardest working folk duo in America”.  They just released their 13th CD Terra Guitarra, The Mother Night.
