Yee Haw! Gallery Walk goes Western tonight.
The Visual Arts Center to celebrate the Center’s Spirit of The American Frontier Fine Arts Festival is joining with the Downtown Merchants' Association to bring a western theme to this 3rd Thursday Gallery Walk.
Wear your Western duds and join in the fun. In the garden at Sea Gape Gallery, Buffalo Bill Cody will be there for photos. You can have t your picture taken with him and pick it up at the VAC – free of charge.
In addition to viewing art demonstrations and exhibits, live sidewalk entertainment, you can take a chance to win $120 in DMA bucks in the Pony Express game. DMA bucks are equal to cash at any of the businesses listed on the back of the bucks. Game cards and the new Gallery Walk locator maps will be available at the downtown businesses and the two Chambers of Commerce.
Members of VAC have created reproductions of famous Western paintings and sculptures, some of which will be on display at ten of the Gallery Walk locations: Peter’s Knife Shop, Creations Gallery, Sunart Gallery & Framing, Trabue Restaurant, Creative Circle Studio & Gallery, Knit Wit Studios at the Artisan’s Atelier, River City Grill, Swiss Chocolate+, Sea Grape Gallery, Kay’s Kloset. Some of the artists will be on hand to describe their technique.
Gallery Walk welcomes some new members tonight: Mark Preuss, Dolls by Darlene and Knit Wit Studios located in the Artisan’s Atelier. Galleria Antiques & Collectables has opened in the Papillon Building, where there will be a Ribbon Cutting at 5:00.
