Flicks, Conquistadors and More this Punta Gorda Weekend

Just before snowbirds start winging back to our oasis on the harbor, the harbinger of a busy season to come kicks in.  The Peace River Film Festival which began yesterday continues at the Event Center over the weekend.  And at Fishermen's Village Saturday the  Ponce De Leon Festival takes place, 10 am-6 pm.  You can learn about the history of Ponce De Leon and his discovery of Punta Gorda first hand from the Royal Order of Ponce De Leon Conquistadors.  In addition, there will be Nautical Arts & Crafts, live music with Claudio B., games, face painting, pictures with Conquistadors, and  more.
