Your Punta Gorda "Hibiscus" Weekend starts now

Before you moor yourself at a favorite watering hole tonight,  start your evening at the Punta Gorda Hibiscus Festival, which will begin blooming tonight at Gilchrist Park around 6 o'clock.  The music rundown goes like this:

6 PM Rendexvous
6:30 PM Bill McDonald
7 PM Chakulla and Me
7:30 PM Karen Cohen
8:00 PM Perry Street Project
8:30 PM Paul Cottrell
9:00 PMStill Friends

Then you may want to venture on to Fishville, where Mike Riley and the Boogiemen descend for a two night gig at Harpoon's starting at 8 p.m.  Too, you might stop by the Ray, where the Freecoasters will be delivering a mix of soul and reggae.
