It was the tenanciy and determination of local resident, Nan Leonard, that first brought the festival to Punta Gorda two years ago.  "Punta Gorda was a perfect environment for this small festival," Ms. Leonard said, "then the first event  sold out  to a standing-room-only crowd."  "Last January, people were trying to buy tickets, even before they were printed, which again sold out," she added, noting that in October 2016, The Punta Gorda Chamber of Commerce started receiving emails and phone calls asking when tickets would go on sale for the 3rd annual event.. five months in advance,"

John Wright, President of the PGCC will be the MC for the evening with special guest NBC-2 News Stacey Deffenbaugh. Director Doug LeClaire, created Asbury Shorts USA in 1981 to celebrate Independent short films. Nanette Leonard, a Punta Gorda resident with over 35 years of experience in the entertainment industry, serves as Executive Producer.
