Entertaining Diversions for Your Sultry Summer Weekend Nights
It's summer in our city and behind the deep purple, pink and iridescent skies, the sun descends in a final blaze leaving behind our sultry nights. The streets are quieter, the town is blissfully hushed in general. Time to enjoy our cool places without having to deal with dense season crowds. Here's some suggestions for this weekend.
The Perch on top of the Wyvern Hotel has entertainment tonight and most weekend nights. Saturday. Tiki Tom and LA Daniels start at 6 p.m. And downstairs at the newly reopened piano bar and restaurant, 88 Keys, Danny Sinoff is playing the keys tonight, and tomorrow night Stu Shelton. Listen to Danny while trying out some of Chef Bob Moltzan's inspired dishes.
The Boogiemen are back at Harpoon Harry's both tonight and tomorrow night starting at 8:30.
At Hurricane Charley's nibble on some sushi with drinks and listen to the sounds of Neon Summer tonight or Sonic Suns tomorrow starting at 7.
The new Angela's Cafe (where Trabue was) has Peggy and Emery's Home-Grown Sounds starting at 6.
At Dean's St. Tone is on tonight at 9, and Archer hits the stage tomorrow.
At the Celtic Ray tomorrow night, go back to the eighties with the Crank-Ups at 9. Paul Duffy is on earlier in the afternoon.
If your an Elk or a friend of one, check out Two Can Jam tonight and TAT2 tomorrow night about 6:30 at the Punta Gorda Elks.
