As Snow Birds Migrate North Punta Gorda becomes More for the Locals

The streets are less crowded, the parking lots are less full, the lines outside Elenas are gone,  seats at the bar at the Laishley Crab House are easy to come by.  Snowbirds have begun their northern migration back to the "land of long pants."   True it will be another month before year-arounders have the City almost to themselves, but the flocks have begun taking off and the crowds are thinning all over town.

This is the time to enjoy our paradise, and all the benefits that having a growing winter population have brought.  Start with a plethora of marvelous restaurants and cafes that need our support now.   This is the time to sit quietly at the outside bar at the Crab House overlooking the harbor, take an elevator to the top of the Wyvern for a drink at sunset, have a glass of wine and a cheese platter at the comfy new Closer to the Vine, go out for breakfast say at Dean's (Brenda serving wonderful omelets and more), enjoy lunch at Jack, a $20 two-course exquisite meal at award-winnning Perfect Caper, try out the new OPUS restaurant, check out Phil's 41 for lunch or an early dinner and chat with him about his great food and service.   On and on.

Over the next weeks I will be focussing more on the blog about our outstanding restaurant community..but I wanted to get this pitch in early for these folks.  Patronize them.. they need you to get through these thinner months.. You want them here. we've longed dreamed of having what we now have in Punta Gorda.  Let's support it.
