The Mummies come to downtown Friday night with the Crashers and Those Guys also dropping in to kick it up another notch. The gates for the "funk from beyond the grave" open at 5 p.m. On Saturday, there will be chance to sample various Punta Gorda restaurants at the "Taste of Punta Gorda" in Laishley Park starting at 11 a.m. At the Charlotte Harbor Event and Conference Center New Orleans Jazz musician Byron Stripling performs a tribute to Louis Armstrong. (Tickets, $35 for adults; $15 for students). Then on Sunday, Jim Morris and his bamboo band take the stage for his "Magic on the Water" CD-Release concert at Laishley Park.
