Say it isn't so. I lived in Naples -- Florida -- before coming to Punta Gorda... and one Sunday a new music minister appeared at our church there. I confess I was half asleep expecting the same old same old whinny voice croaking out something that I really didn't want to listen to. Then from nowhere this magical sound came bellowing out from this frail looking man with white wiry hair in the front of the church. I was captivated.
I've been to many of Paul Todd's concerts since. Taken friends... one who said after hearing Paul sing Andrew Lloyd Webber's Love Changes Everything, "We can leave now.. it doesn't get any better than this." And it's true... Sure I am raving.. but trust me on this one -- Paul Todd has a voice you won't believe is only available in this area of Florida.
If you want to go to the concert, you can still make the tree lighting and rush over there. Paul will be at the First Methodist Church (how appropriate -- one of the most beautiful in Punta Gorda) on Friday, December 3 at 7 p.m. Tickets are available for $15. I hear he is bringing his son -- that should be interesting.
Here's a sample of Paul:
