A You Belong in Punta Gorda Moment at Pressellers

I noticed a new painting on the wall at Pressellers the other day, one with a glass vase that you could see through to the objects behind and I was reminded of how I love when art captures that transparent effect.  The still life hangs next to my favorite painting of the white plumed birds.

While I come here for the food - the crunch of the bread and broccoli salad, the ooze of the cheese, the variety of sandwiches named after artists on French baguettes, it's also the moments of quiet reflection inspired by the art and sensibilities of the surroundings that keep drawing me here now and then.

Quiet jazzy music floated in the background, and the angst of my day seemed to float away with it.
