Yes, it did get a bit chilly here in beautiful Punta Gorda, Florida last night. But, check out the weather map guys. Every state EXCEPT Florida has snow on the ground (yes, and that includes Hawaii --see article below). While we were shivering (our blood is thin here) at temperatures that dipped into the 30s very late at night (remaining in the high 50s for most of the day) , Kansas City reached a high of 13 during the day, and dipped to 0.... that's right a real 0 last night -- not a wind/chill factor of 0. Even Atlanta went down to 17 at night and is expected to cascade to 13 this evening. And places in Nebraska and the Dakotas have hit actual minus double digits this week.
Check out the weather maps on Accuweather here and don't forget to glance at the one for wind/chill. See all the purple. This is below zero, way below. You don't see any of this stuff, or snow near Punta Gorda, Florida. And better still by tomorrow we will be hitting highs in the high 60s and by the weekend we're back in the 70s again. No where "up there" as we say will be like this -- there will be happiness in other states to reach the high 40s during the day.
But why am I telling you all this -- you are here. You know this right. I guess I just wanted to remind everyone including myself that when it gets a bit chill that there are a lot of reasons we are here... but one major one is this -- there is no snow, no ice to slide on, and the wind/chill factor is never minus something. Thank you very much.
