Cool Jazz on a Hot Summer Night -- Gallery Walk Tomorrow Night and More

Even in the dog days of summer, Punta Gorda still can cool things off with its wide choices of air-conditioned bars and restaurants.  And this Thursday night, it's gallery walk where you can breeze down the Punta Gorda downtown streets and dart into galleries and shops to cool off a bit and listen to the sounds of cool jazz throughout the City's restaurant and gallery district.   

Gallery Walk runs every third Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m.  Most galleries participate and have artists on hand for demonstrations and libations or other goodies are offered. For  instance among the possibilities,  at Creative Circle Studio  you can enjoy a glass of wine or visit Creations Gallery for a celebration with cake and punch. 

I think I'll shake away the summer doldrums tomorrow night by a stroll through the galleries followed by dinner -- lots of two for ones for Punta Gorda full-timers -- then when the cool of evening sets in, I'll check out the performers at Gilchrist.   I love Punta Gorda even in August.
