Heard at Gallery Walk -- More on Punta Gorda Oktoberfest October 7

Wandering around Gallery Walk last night, we stopped at SunArt Gallery and chatted with Jerry Pressler of the Downtown Merchants Association about the upcoming Oktoberfest in Punta Gorda to be held October 7 from 5 to 10 p.m in front of the Old Court House Downtown.

The Punta Gorda Oktoberfest has been getting better every year and this year the fest is adding a traditional Wine and Beer Garden as well as  many more authentic German dishes. Jerry mentioned "sauerbraten, leberkase" in addition to the brats and wursts and more.   He also noted that the German Bread folks would be there with pretzels, breads, strudel and more.  In fact, Lisa will be cooking up some of the German dishes.

There will be a lederhosen contest and dancing to German music into the night.   Having personally attended this event for several years, I can strongly recommend it.
