The dancing "stars," Charlotte County locals who will be performing next year in Dancing with the Charlotte Stars 2013 have been selected . The 2013 competitors will be Blair Lovejoy of Florida’s Blood Centers; Cheyenne Young, an attorney with the Wotitsky Law Firm; Jessica Boles, Charlotte Behavioral Health Care; the Rev. Bill Klossner of the Congregational United Church of Christ; Capt. Dennis Kirk, owner of the Nav-A-Gator Grille; and Michael Hearn, publisher of the Florida Weekly.
Each will be assigned to a participating member of the dance studios: Arthur Murray Dance Studio, Florida Dance Workshop and Higher Ground Performing Arts. They haven’t started practicing yet, but are accepting “votes” for the People’s Choice Award.
Dancing with the Charlotte Stars 2013 will be on Friday, March 1, at the Charlotte Harbor Event and Conference Center.
Jason Green, partnering with Nikki Blazekovic of Florida Dance Workshop, won the plaque for best dancer in 2012 with a combination of swing, hip-hop, the worm and more. Ralph Yankwitt won People’s Choice last year. Ralph raised the most votes (dollars). His dance partner was Kathleen Candales of Higher Ground Performing Arts.
