Now that Allegiant Air is flying directly into Punta Gorda from several locations in the US including Fort Wayne and South Bend, Indiana, Knoxville, Tennessee, Lexington, Kentucky, and Peoria, Illinois, it's time for our Punta Gorda hotels to start linking up as partners to the airline. On Allegiant's website there are partner hotels in Sarasota, Naples and Fort Myers, but none listed for Punta Gorda.
Punta Gorda is a beautiful destination for tourists to stay, walk or bike along our harbor and stop by waterfront restaurants and tiki bars, take boat rides out on the harbor or to an island beach for the day, go fishing in our harbor teaming with a multitude of varieties, visit nature preserves and Florida back county. Punta Gorda is especially attractive for people who prefer harbor side/bay front living with boating access to the beach.... and if you want a little bit of both in a laid back area with lots of restaurants and other things to do it's ideal.
So hotels and Allegiant, time to partner... the Sheraton with its fabulous Tiki Bar on the Harbor, the beautiful Wyvern hotel with its magnificent rooftop bar and restaurant and boutique style rooms, the Punta Gorda Hotel...all are potential get-aways for holiday seekers. I'm in Punta Gorda because we vacationed in Southwest Florida in the summer years ago. It's more reasonable than the coastal north and a good combination holiday for those who can only take so much Disney. ( I do like Disney, but in small doses).
