Celebrate PGI 50th and Light Up the Village and More on Your Punta Gorda Weekend
Punta Gorda Isles will celebrate its 50th anniversary with the largest photo of the harbor and more, and the Village will turn on its lights tomorrow to welcome the Christmas season with a "Festival of Lights". Fishermen's Village will ignite the start of the Holiday shopping season with the switching on of over one million lights and themed decorations. A ribbon cutting with city officials will take place at 5:30 p.m., followed by parade by Lee County Pipes & Drums. Other festivities include Luis the Balloon Man, Airbrush Art for Face & Body, Dickens Carolers from Charlotte Chorale, visits with Santa (bring your camera), String of Pearls Barbershop Harmony, complimentary refreshments by village merchants, Horse Drawn Carriage Rides by Riding Star Ranch (nominal fee).
