Summer Time is Time to Enjoy the Best Restaurants in Town More Often

Punta Gorda restaurants which had been crowded with seasonal visitors and tourists are quieter now.  I can actually find a spot at the Opus or Perfect Caper bar on most evenings, and better still enjoy some drinks and a meal for less than a car payment.   Bottom line is that the two for one, half-price drink prices, and bogo deals make our restaurants more affordable for more than the occasional splurge.

Opus, for instance, is offering at the bar $3 wells and domestic beer, $4 house wines and $5 martinis from 4 to 7 p.m.   On top of that, their bogo deal which runs from 4:30 to 7 has short ribs, beef tips, petite filet mignon, pan-seared mahi-mahi, crab cakes and more on its menu.  For more information on this one www.opuspg.com.

We checked out the Perfect Caper the other night and they also have a bogo menu, which includes the Perfect's hamburgers (usually $12 each).  We enjoyed hamburgers and a couple of glasses of wine (also two for one) for a very reasonable sum and are sure to return soon.

River City (may have to have a coupon)  and Jacks also have two for one deals. And every time I pass the Torch they have a deal or two on their sign.  Point being this is the time of year that our restaurants need our business, and they are stretching themselves to make it affordable for us to visit more than occasionally.   This is the time to get out there and enjoy the benefits of living in a tourist town, and to help out the local economy too.  Don't cry if your favorites disappear because you failed to support them during the lean months of summer.
