Christmas Comes Early to the History Park -- Christmas Lights Display December 3-7
It was "cold" (for Florida) the night I went to see the Christmas Lights at the History Park a few years ago. So much so that when the fabricated snow starting fluttering before me as I walked under the blue lit canopy leading to the Price House, for a flash of a moment I thought it was snowing -- for real.
The event, which was sorely missed (at least by me) last year, has been revived this season and the elves of the History Society have been working earnestly over the past weeks to decorate the Cigar Cottage and Price House to bring a bit of Christmas Past to Punta Gorda.
The guides who docent the decorated houses not only provide insights into the houses themselves but very intriguing tidbits about Punta Gorda history.
This is a unique opportunity to take a glimpse into a window of the past all decked out for the holidays. And in case it's cold again, there will be Hot cocoa as well as a food truck on site. Donation is $10/adults; children under 12 are free. Call 941-639-1887 for more information.
Below is a photo show from a past Christmas at the Park.
