Punta Gorda Fourth of July Weekend Packed with Sparkling Entertainment

Punta Gorda will celebrate the nation's 239th birthday this weekend kicking off with the Annual Freedom Swim, followed by day long events and spectacular fireworks over the Peace River.

 A Fourth of July Fest at Laishley Park starts  at around 11 a.m. and goes through past evening fireworks with the Boogiemen  at 6 p.m. and headliner Jack Michael Band after the fireworks.  At Fishville, the Annual Freedom Swim on Charlotte Harbor begins at 10 a.m with free  trolley rides from the north side of the Bridge to Fishermen’s Village. Singer/Guitarist Michael Hirst will be performing 11 am-2 pm near Good ‘Ole Days Coffee Café. Harpoon Harry’s will celebrate the day with Kids crafts and treats, bathing suit contests, drink and food specials and live music all day with DJ George.  Fireworks can be viewed from there starting at 9 p.m.  

At the Four Points Tiki Bar, another spot to gaze at the firey skies Saturday night,  the celebration starts at 4 p.m. with live music and BBQ.  Hurricane Charley's is also serving up  a big old fashioned 4th of July with burgers and more from 11 a.m. with firework vistas along the Harbor.   

If you haven't bought your ticket for the Herald Court Rooftop, you will have to wait till next year, it's sold out, and you can't get there without a ticket.
