Leroy's Southern Kitchen Opens on Marion

Local entrepreneurs and caterers Lee Richardson and Bob Mulroy with chef Rich Howze have opened the doors of their Southern Kitchen, Leroy's, on Marion Avenue in Punta Gorda.  Lee was roaming the restaurant today at lunchtime and eager to explain the various dishes that Chef Howze had created for what the restaurant they describe on their website as "a unique blend of relaxed elegance, unprecedented comfort and soulful Southern hospitality."

We tried the tasting board from the charcuterie menu.  The cheeses and sausage choices which included an aged gouda and blue, andouille sausage, some cured ham and other selections was indeed tasty!  Also, enjoyed was their green fried tomatoes with blue cheese and tasso fondue.  The menu  which can be viewed on their website is extensive and includes a full selection of southern entrees and sides as well as hamburgers.  Leroys also has a 3-6 p.m. happy hour.
