Punta Gorda Weekend: Lights on at the Village and More as Season Kicks Off

As the the holidays approach, Punta Gorda begins lighting up the town.   The street lamps downtown are already dazzling with large sparkling snowflakes and wrapped in strings of glowing light bulbs.  The downtown Christmas tree has been raised and is starting to acquire its ornamentation yet still looking a bit undressed as  it awaits  formal illumination in a couple of weeks from now.  But Fishermen's Village is getting a jump on season turning on  the Village holiday lights (Festival of Light Lighting of the Village) with the new Mayor and Council members  cutting the ribbon Saturday Night.   

And there's much more musical entertainment around town as we edge towards Christmas and season in the tropics. 

Friday Night, November 18

At Biehl's Slip Not: American Made will wow you with 80s sounds and more from 8 p.m. 

At Fishermen's Village Center Stage:  Magen and Mike from 5-9 p.m.

At the Captain's Table:  For a softer sound:  Maurey Dewey (Pianist/Vocalist)

At the Punta Gorda Elks:  For members:  Anything Goes.

At Dean's South of the Border:  Gary and Carrie from 9 p.m.

At Jacks: Zombie University attacks at 9 p.m. Hold onto your brains.   
At Closer to the Vine: Lou Canoe does Blues from 7 to 10 p.m. 

At Harpoon Harry's: Slick Willy from 9 p.m.

At the Celtic Ray: Flurgin Light? from 9 p.m. Mighty Tiki Gods from 10 p.m.. 

At the Wyvern:  There will probably be music...but the weather looks a bit ominous -- you might want to check it out but wear a jacket.
