A complete Ring around the City" edges closer to reality as the Punta Gorda City Council approved the design for the Linear Park II & III this week, which will extend the existing section of the ring from the Harborwalk at Fisherman's Village to Olympia to US 41. After much discussion, the Council agreed that it was an important step towards bringing Punta Gorda the distinction of being a very bicycle-pedestrian friendly community.
This will also connect with the Shreve MURT(Multi-Use Recreational Trail), providing connectivity between the Harborwalk, Linear Parks and MURT system -- more than 15 miles of pedestrian/bicycling pathways. The schedule calls for all of this to be completed by the end of 2012
