Fishermens' Village will light up this Saturday night heralding the beginning of Punta Gorda's holiday season. The festivities starting at 5: 30 p.m. will include a ribbon cutting by the Mayor preceding the switching on of the holiday illumination--over a million lights. Saturday, During the Day
At Laishley Park The CC Animal Welfare League holds its annual Party in the Park, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Food and beverages available, vendor booths with information and samples, an Owner/Pet Look-A-Like contest, dog-training demos, a silent auction and adoptable pets from the shelter. There will be music provided by Bean and Seeds Band, face painting, a raffle, contests and more. Admission, $3 per person; $5 for a family. Proceeds help the AWL provide shelter, food and medical supplies to orphaned pets. 625-6720
At Carmalita Fields 2nd Annual Charlotte County Schools Softball Fundraiser Tournament at the Carmalita fields located at the corner of Carmalita Street and Florida Street in Punta Gorda. The tournament will begin at 8:00 a.m. and festivities will last until approximately 6:00 p.m.
At the Visual Arts Center Holiday Gift Sale 10-3 . Support local artists - one-of-a-kind items, artwork, holiday decorations, crafts and more.
At the Punta Gorda Farmer's Market 8-noon, Michael Hirst, singer-songwriter performs
