It's a Fun Filled Weekend in Punta Gorda -- With the Canal Rim Parade the Big Enchilada



The big enchilada this weekend is the Punta Gorda Isles Lighted Boat Parade (postponed until Sunday due to weather) now officially known as the Rim Parade because the boats float around on the canals on the rim of PGI.  I've blogged already about the best places to view this wonder which brings the fantasy of Christmas into the tropics.  We had boat parades up north -- but come on brrrrr!  This is the best place to watch a lighted boat parade --the largest holiday boat parade on the Southwest Coast.  The parade starts at dark (around 6 p.m.) Saturday.

Also, on Saturday, during the day, there will be an open house at the Freeman House on Retta Esplanade with Santa and more -- details.

And here are a few items I've isolated for evening entertainment over the weekend:


Tonight


At Fishville Center Stage Jim Morris will be "taking some time to kiss the day away" as "the sun goes down on Charlotte Harbor"  at 5 p.m. 


At Jacks and One Eleven there is a "Sexy Santa Party" which starts at 10pm. Music from Groove Symphony (According to Jacks Facebook: Free vodka from 10pm-11pm , and Ciroc is only $5, and Henny is $7)

At Harpoon Harry'sBoomtown Express is on from 9 p.m.

At Biehl's Slip-Not, Sammy J and the Guys from 8 p.m.

At the Punta Gorda Elks, MC Squared.


Saturday

At Harpoon Harry's, Boomtown Express is on again from 9 p.m.

At Biehl's Slip-Not, Two Can Jam from 8 p.m.

At Fishville Center Stage, Doo Wop Crew, 5-9 p.m.

At the Punta Gorda Elks, Sound Investment.  

Sunday

At the Charlotte Harbor Event Center, the Charlotte Symphony Orchestra will present it's pop concert at 7:30 "Tis the Season" More Information.
