Quednau Hindman House Begins its Journey to the History Park in Punta Gorda
Wandering down Goldstein Street in the historic district of Punta Gorda today, we came upon movers starting to lift the historic Quendnau Hindman house from its foundation on Goldstein Street in preparation for its journey to the History Park on Saturday morning. For months now Louie Desquin of the History Society of Punta Gorda, who manages the History Park, has been championing an effort to move the house -- a yard or even a foot at a time. We wrote more on the history of the house in an earlier post. This Saturday starting at 8 a.m. the dream of having a Youth Center at the Park within the house will roll closer to reality.
