Exciting Weekend in Punta Gorda with the International Disabled Sailing Federation's World Disabled Sailing Championship launching from our shores and visitors arriving worldwide for the event which begins Saturday with a parade at 11 a.m. followed by a World Festival at Laishley Park. Concurrently the Annual Snowbird Arts and Crafts Show at Gilchrist Park runs Saturday and Sunday starting at 10 a.m. And at the Event center Swan Lake will be performed Saturday night by a Russian ballet company, while on Sunday Roy Orbison (impersonator) takes the stage.
And, of course, there is plenty of night-time entertainment this weekend for our visitors, returning snowbirds and those of us that are around all year. Here are some suggested haunts for listening to some sounds or dancing tonight or tomorrow:
