Pointing out that "Punta Gorda's housing market has two huge factors working in its favor: very low home prices and extremely nice backyards (i.e. canals)," CNN/Money Magazine reports that Punta Gorda is one of the top comeback towns based on Realtor.com.
The article notes that many of Punta Gorda's homes sit canal-side and have docks in their backyards. It talks about homeowners being able to jump in their boats and be in the Gulf of Mexico in a matter of minutes.
The piece points out that Realtor.com has noted that Punta Gorda squeaked into its top 10 on the strength of its inventory decline: There are 29% fewer homes for sale than there were a year ago according to Realtor.com.
This is great press for our wonderful little town on the Peace.
