Hope to fall in love again with Jack's now to be called "Jack's on Marion" by New Owners

It was just  reported today in the Charlotte Sun that a local couple has purchased Jack’s Restaurant from its founder, City Councilman Charles Wallace. The new owners are retired airline pilot Bill Minerich, 61, and his wife Janet, general manager of the Port Charlotte Town Center mall.   The couple, who also operate a blueberry farm east of Punta Gorda, have plans to give the restaurant and martini bar, One Eleven, a bit of a face-lift.  The restaurant will be renamed to "Jack’s on Marion".  Expect changes to  the menu with more affordable dishes.  According to quote from the Sun:  “Our vision is to give Jack’s more of an everyman’s menu,” the new owner said.

Our view is that this is great news... the restaurant has been looking a little long in the tooth with service appreciably down... it's been up for sale and there were rumors of its closing.  A freshened look with remotivated staff should bring  this centerpiece downtown Punta Gorda restaurant back to its original promise.  We loved Jack's when it opened and hope to fall in love again.
